8 PAX and an FNG joined the fun YHC had planned for this balmy Wednesday stroll. I believe half the signup sheet emptied out through the night – hope all are well. The gate was open, probably because all the stars align with Shear Conn back in our midst, so we moseyed up to the road for WOR.
- Plank Jacks
- Peter Parkers
- Sun Gods
- Abe Vigodas
- Seam Rippers
The miracle mile was just about in effect today, but we started at the middle of the mile. Ladder up burpees at each light until 3, then ladder down at each light pole, out to the main road and back to the starting point. Then, run three lights, bear crawl a light, run three lights, bear crawl. Shear Conn attempted his escape back to Florida during this routine, but the PAX reeled him back.
Next was a Duvet suicide special. Everyone likes running … except for YHC and Hook’em, so at the top of the lot lunge walk half the parking lot, then jailbreak the rest. Repeato to the top of the lot. Epstein commented that the lunge walk makes the jailbreak feel different on the legs.
Up to the concessions by the baseball fields for the last set of exercises. Complete 15 reps of the following, followed by a descending ladder of pull ups 5-4-3-2-1:
- Step up each leg
- Orangutan Squats
To the center of the parking lot for Mary, which consisted of Reverse LBC’s (Dean commented these are almost like Jellyfish, to which Shear Conn commented loudly that these are actually exercises unlike jellyfish), Box Cutters, Hammers.
Our FNG was brought out by Mall Cop, who was not in attendance, so we had the pleasure of getting to know him better without the slightest bit of awkwardness. VP in IT applications for Wells Fargo, 3 children, all geniuses from what I gathered (all headed to or through Med School at Marshall), walks 12 miles a day around the neighborhood. Because Mall Cop referred him, an easy choice was Mall Walker, but Crawdaddy swept in with the winner – welcome Floppy Disk!
Prayers for Checkbook and the family! Floppy Disk has some good home remedies for the respiratory illnesses – vicks vapor rub; steam; and the crowd pleaser, ginger, lemons quartered, and black pepper in hot water (no virus could survive that concoction).
Gents – a pleasure to lead, and as always, an honor. This group has changed the trajectory of my life for the better for which I am forever grateful.
