Black-Out Friday

A respectable 33 PAX posted for the all-black workout (credit to Checkbook) held in tribute to a true inspiration to us all – Alexis, who lost a long, hard-fought battle at Saint Jude Hospital earlier this week. This one goes out to you sweet girl! We can’t wait to meet you there where you are now – held up pain and cancer free, lifted high by our mighty creator!

Those in attendance included Fudd, Flounder, Water Wings, Sprinkler, Far Side, Chipper, Pacer, Mulligan, Slice, Sludge, Crawdaddy, Doctor Evil, Gilmore, Red, Whamm-o, Shear Conn, Lucky, Flo, Tarde, Lovie, Radar, Hook ‘Em, Crankbait, Duvet, Deliverance, Madoff, Dean, Boon, Kay, Change Order (FNG), Blue Hen, Tenderfoot, and Epstein

Not only did the workout attire (generally) included only black apparel, but the workout itself stayed on the blacktop. The cooler temperatures had the PAX in a rowdy state of mumbling from the start but YHC won’t expound on this chatter, thanks in part to the bluetooth speaker held close and high in volume… I know it was great though! The exercises went a little something like this.

Mosey to the small parking lot off of Bodenheimer for warm-a-rama (SSH x 20 IC + Cotton Pickers x 15 IC + Frankenstein x 15 IC + Copperhead Squats x 15 IC + Abe Vigota (Dean Vigota) x 15 IC

Mosey to the actual tennis courts (which are just epoxy-covered asphalt) for BTTW to failure then 20 Pretzel Crunches both sides (thanks for the name reminder Gilmore) + Repeato

Mosey to the bus lot at the elementary school where we mobbed-up and worked on our technique (or in some cases modified heavily) 10 burpees per minute for 10 minutes.

Mosey to the basketball courts for the always invigorating and never enlightening Bring Sally up, Bring Sally down song workout. We did squats on down and go the lactic acid out the best we could on up.

6MOM followed with Flutter Kicks x 20 IC + Reverse LBC x 15 IC + Side-Plank Push-Ups x 10 IC both sides + American Hammer x 10 IC

Announcements / Prayer Requests: New K’Ville F3 Tee Shirts are available – thanks Kay (, Thin Mint was granted his waiver for ROTC (Pending PT), Memorial for Alexis is 11-15 pray for travel and family, April’s health, Mulligan needs more sponsorship for Saint Jude Hospital (RESPECT!)

Welcome Kevin Maston (36 – FNG) to the group – Keep posting! It was great having you as part of our Flash-Bang Friday crowd!

Thanks to all of you men who continue to push each other not only to better health and living in this world, but toward the prize that lasts forever. I know I’m a different person today because of the work from many of you. “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10

What a blessing, honor, and privilege to be a part of this group!
