A 14-strong Saturday Pax came to 4th Of July Park to evaluate their short game. They included Lucky Charms, Checkbook, Epstein, Sprinkler, Malpractice, Bambi, Doubtfire, Tardy, Dr. Evil, Florida, Kay, Chipper, Boone’s Farm, and Blue Hen (Q). As usual, YHC shamelessly ripped off a workout from another AO, this time from MECA in Charlotte. This time, it looked better on paper.
Side bar: As most of us planned to help unload a trailer load of pumpkins later Saturday morning, my goal was a golf themed workout that was light on the arms. I honestly thought this would be a fun workout that included a lot of lunges and a few burpees…my bad.
After a brief disclaimer we moseyed to the circle for Warm-O-Rama:
- SSH x20
- Abe Vigoda x 10
- Imperial Walkers x15
- Mountain Climber x15
- Sun Gods x10 L & R
Short mosey to the baseball field for The Thang:
- Group in to 4’somes or 3’somes
- Each group selects first player to chip from home plate to picture’s mound to a bucket. This should have looked like this
- A missed chip would result in a penalty: team run up the hill and 10 burpees.
- Here Epstein is showing off
- Lunge to FIRST base
- Broad Jump Burpees to SECOND base
- Google Bun Shaper Lunge to THIRD base
- Run Home stopping only for 10 WWII sit ups
- Bambi in perfect form
- repeat until time over
After 3-4 times through, and audible was called and tossing the ball into the bucket was allowed. The distance was shortened to about 8 feet.
Moleskin: Nobody chipped or tossed the ball into the bucket for 45 minutes. Eventually Checkbook tossed one in marking the merciful end to a poorly planned concept. The result of this error on my part was a boatload of burpees (by my estimate everyone did 100-125 burpees).
Before moseying to the basketball court, everyone pitched in and cleaned up the area. Dr. Evil will count this towards his community service hours of course.

It is always an honor to lead the K’ville Pax. Each of you inspires me to be a better husband, father, son, friend, co-worker and Christian. I am a better person because of you are in my life, and for that I am eternally grateful. BH
