Pain in the Park, Random?

Sixteen AWESOME Pax convened for a bit of a workout on a fine Saturday morning.  Just like promised, the weather was ‘perfect’ for this type of beat down.

The mumblechatter started early, but it was time to start.

Pax: Epstein, Chipper, Doubtfire, Sludge, Checkbook, Fortran, Flounder, Tool Time, Special Ed, Sprinkler, Crankbait, Mulligan, Shear Conn, Wham O, Gilmore, Dr. Evil (QIC)

Mosey to the back parking lot behind the school

Spread out to the cones and follow the directions–(Thanks, Crankbait, for avoiding the temptation to bring all of the cones to the YHC before the workout.)

  • Cone 1:  25 merkins, high knees to second Cone
  • Cone 2:  25 Carolina dry docks, caraoke right to Cone 3
  • Cone 3: 25 World War I’s, caroake left to Cone 2
  • Cone 2:  25 Dry docks, high knees to Cone 4
  • Cone 4: 25 Spaghetti mixers, squat right to Cone 5
  • Cond 5: 25 Mountain Climbers IC, squat left to Cone 4
  • Reverso through all of the exercises back to Cone 1, then proceed to Cone 6, 5 burpees, then mirror image of the whole thing using opposite Cones.

Okay, some quick math–and it might be incorrect, but there seems to have been:

  • 100 merkins
  • 200 Carolina Dry Docks
  • 100 WWI’s
  • 100 Spaghetti Mixers
  • 50 Mountain Climbers (IC)

This may have been why Sludge shot me the finger (more than once) during the thang.

Grounded:

Similar to first Thang, but admiring the uncut grass…

  • Cone 1:  25 low slow flutters, IC, crabwalk to Cone 2
  • Cone 2:  25 Split jacks, plank walk Cone 3
  • Cone 3: 25 plank jacks, plank walk left to Cone 2
  • Cone 2:  25 Split Jacks, bear crawl to Cone 4
  • Cone 4: 25 Makhtar Ndjia, side bear right to Cone 5
  • Cond 5: 25 Crabcakes IC, side bear left to Cone 4
  • Reverso through all of the exercises back to Cone 1, then proceed to Cone 6, 5 burpees, then mirror image of the whole thing using opposite Cones.

A few observations:

  1. Based on the first round in the parking lot, we only did the exercises for each side once, but kept the mobility between stations.
  2. After Doubtfire collected the cones prematurely (passive resistance?), it was a real challenge for the Pax to put it back together.
  3. Only Fortran went the wrong direction.
  4. Mulligan was a stud.
