19 reverent Pax gathered under threatening skies to carry the lightest of weights in remembrance of Memorial Day and to complete the annual “Murph” workout. A brief welcome was offered as well as a short overview of the plan to complete the workout. Pax then reflected on the workout’s namesake CMoH award recipient Lt. Michael Murphy (SEAL) U.S. Navy, who gave is life to make a distress call to save the members of his team during Operation Red Wings June 2005. Heeding the call, a rescue helicopter was dispatched to rescue Murphy and his team. That Chinook chopper manned by the elite US Army Night Stalker Special Forces helicopter unit with a full cadre of SEALS aboard was hit by enemy fire upon approach and all aboard died.
Each of the PAX was asked to pull a name of one of the fallen and carry it with them while completing The Murph.
